PRO K9 SOLUTIONS

Dog Training and Education

The 24/7 Approach

Pro K9 Solutions takes an education-based and holistic approach to dog training.  Our goal is a better quality of life for dogs and humans.

Training is 24/7. It. Never. Stops. The majority of how your dog behaves is a result of the lifestyle you live with your dog. This means you are shaping your dog whether you realize it or not. Dogs learn from everything you do (or do not do). Our 24/7 Approach empowers owners by teaching them how to properly raise their dogs by establishing a proper foundation.  Once the foundation is set, everything is now easier, and most things fall into place.

Owning a dog should not be stressful. Bad relationships cause frustrated owners and dogs with a bad mental state. There is no reason why dogs and owners should not be living happy lives! There are so many other things in life to worry about. Your dog should not be one of them.

Every human-dog relationship is different, and we can tailor a program and services to your needs. By focusing on the proper structure, leadership, communication, and using obedience as a tool, we can establish a great relationship for you and your dog.

We are based out of the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago.

The 24/7 Approach Partnership Program

Price: $250

1. Phone Consultation and Discussion (30-45 minutes)

After filling out our contact form we will give you a call to talk about your situation. We will describe the program and answer any questions you may have. We will also begin to offer advice on things you can put into play immediately because the sooner the better and we will schedule our in-home session.

2. Read the E-book

After our conversation, you will be sent our E-Book. It outlines and provides background and explanation for the foundational concepts, games, and commands in our program. It contains a major part of the education you will need. It is imperative that you read the book before the first session. Education is arguably the most important part of this, and with the proper foundation everything will come easier, and most things will fall into place.

3. Watch Our Videos

After reading the book, please watch our videos. This will start to give you a visual of some of the key concepts of the program.

4. 24/7 Approach Program Training Guide

You will also receive our 24/7 Approach Training Guide. This is a summary of the foundational concepts in the book that also includes a 5 phase training program to follow. We recommend you read this AFTER our first session. This will solidify everything we talked about, and give you a handy guide to follow for your activities that you do with your dog. If people are in a time crunch, you can read this before our first session. However, this is not preferred. You will be missing a lot of background explanations and information!

5. Recommended Tools

Before our first session, we recommend you get this list of basic tools. We will also have a few other tools we recommend and will be able to purchase. If you have any questions please let us know.

Tools: Crate, elevated dog bed, leash with a clip, leash suitable to drag in the house, long line/lead (20-30 feet),  tiny training treats, or your dog’s dry food if there is a high food drive.

6. In-Home Session (2-3 hours)

This will include a major discussion about your dog and lifestyle. We will talk about your dog, your situation, and discuss all of the major foundational concepts. The foundation is the most important and will set us up for success in everything we do. All questions will be answered. The basic foundational games and commands will be demonstrated.  Between our discussions, the book, training guide, and demonstrations and guidance, you will have everything you need to get off to an amazing start.  Some details of our first session include:

a.  How to be a leader, and make the dog VALUE you!

b. How to use food and how to make feeding time more powerful

c. Proper socialization with humans, dogs, other animals, etc.

d. Calmness and how you need to communicate and interact with your dog properly

e. Crate and other management techniques, thresholds/doorways

f. How to implement proper structure, routines, leadership, and management

h. How your dog thinks, and how you need to communicate with your dog

i. Basics of Marker Training and Conditioning, Pay attention to me game

j. Basics of leash communication and walking, Leash Pressure Game

k. Place command and all other foundational games and commands

7. Call/Text Anytime with Questions and Discussions

As your partner, you have the ability to call and text at any time if you have any questions or want to discuss anything. We PREFER you call us as opposed to looking up something online. We know how powerful it is to be able to get questions answered in a quick fashion.  There is a lot of bad information out there, and not to mention it is just time-consuming to be down the blog/video rabbit hole.

A la Cart Sessions (2 Hours)

Price: $100 each

If desired, additional a la carte sessions can be scheduled. Our philosophy at Pro K9 Solutions is that we want to empower and educate owners so that they need us as minimal as possible.  So much information is given through the book, training guide, and first session that people do not necessarily need more sessions. You can schedule as many or as little as you like. Clients love this option. We do not lock you into large amounts of sessions or multiple weeks of training like many other dog trainers so that they can charge large sums of money. We will discuss and recommend additional sessions on a case-by-case basis. Some owners and dogs need more hands-on guidance or more accountability,  some do not. It just depends!

Typical Schedule

Every situation, owner, and dog are different. As discussed, you have the ability now to schedule as many or little sessions as you want. Below is a typical schedule that seems to work well. for almost all owners and dogs. Once again, you do NOT need to do this many sessions, this is just to give you an idea of what a typical program looks like. Some owners only need the first session. Some owners want a session every other week. It just depends.

Session One: The Foundation

The first is the main session that was described earlier that includes the lengthy discussion about the foundation and demonstration of the foundational games.

Session Two: Debrief and Feedback

This is usually 1-2 weeks after the first. Owners have put the program into action for a week or so. It serves as a debrief from the first session and we can have a great discussion of how it is going so far and any questions that have arisen. This consists of you working with your dog more so we can give feedback and excel how you communicate with your dog. With the foundation in place, we can be more targeted with any areas you deem that need attention.

Session Three: Ramp it Up!

This is usually 2 weeks to a month after session two. At this point, all the foundational concepts and program protocols are in the works. Your dog should be ready to roll and we can start to ramp things up. We will spend the vast majority of time advancing your dog on any of the foundational games, commands, or areas that are needed. If there are any lingering issues or anything new that comes up we will address them.

Session Four: Additional dog

Your dog should have a great foundation that includes a good mental state of mind. In this session, we introduce another dog. We will teach you how to socialize and teach dogs to exist around each other properly so that you can replicate this with other friends or family dogs. This is super powerful and one of our favorite things to do!

Additional Sessions:

From here, there are so many things you can do. Dog training has a wide array of advanced disciplines. It just depends on the owner and dog situation and what the owners want to do. Some dog owners want to take things to the next level with things such as getting their dog off-leash. Some dog owners like the accountability of a session every month. Some dog owners want us to come over and just spend a session working their dog through games, drills, and scenarios. Also remember, that you can call/text anytime with questions or discussion. It all depends on you and the dog.

24/7 Partnership Program w/ Video Session

2. E-Book

3. 24/7 Approach Program Training Guide
